Think of a business or organization that you admire, then describe two examples of how that business is supported by information systems. For example, do they use it for operational excellence ? Or do they use it to create new products and services ?



There are share folder in the company which I work in sale department . All of the customer information ,contract , ECO doc and the complete problem have been stored in this sale department share folder .So the sale or coordinator can use the information after login in by sale department computer . It can easy to find all the detail for each customer ,there are more efficiency to reply the customer asking of self checking without spending time to find the original hard copy .All colleague use the same information to decision .


We also use the ERP to contant the HK
headquarters and the factory in the China.
the centralized and integrated database support of the ours business in the company . all the staff see the same version and it can quickly to response of hte customer asking , such as the quantity of the products store , the best delivery day of the purchasing order . It provide us a smoothly and accuracy work way in the business .

1)Department:

2) received the customer order , enter the item in the sale order into the ERP system to update the real-time information the other department .

Check the item storage , and delivery the right item to the customer by suitable transportation system . online checking the state of the product delivery .

What factors would you consider when deciding whether ERP is suitable or not for a small business ?

3) in sale part ,each product must be union code which can be identify by the ERP system ,create the customer code with a relation such as the first letter of company name and enter all the customer information into the database of the ERP as the name of the company ,the contact person , telephone , E-mail address , the delivery address , the credit limit or the effective period etc. if the information is incorrect . there will be get in trouble to the following department which is account and shipping .

There is the union sale order code which check by the factory colleague, before PO no may be the same .

We also need to plan the streamline before launch the progress

And it is not suitable to use ERP system in a small business .

Budget is the main important factor to small business . ERP may spent 50 thousand to build up a simple system . and if they are small trading business or just few product selling which also no need to spent the resource to do the ERP .Or if the company are providing service which also no need the ERP system

On the other hand , if the business need the real-time information and the faster respond to the customer or always check the past record by the customer or the product .ERP system will achieve the profitable goal more easy

Session 3: Assignment One Question



List the customer data elements generated when a customer interacts with an airline by (a) making a reservation, (b) using frequent flyer miles, and (c) completing a flight. How does information from CRM improve these interactions ?

1i)a) when the customer make a reservation , we need customer data are customer user ID , user password, flyer nation , name , ID no , departure location , arrived location , date , arrived time and the classes needed .for person behavior , such as eating , drinking and reading . After entering the upper data , customer who make reservation may use the e-banking system to pay the reserved ticket.


b) when the customer using frequent miles , they need to enter their user ID to check the current flyer miles after entering the user password .When choosing the departure and the arrived location , there will show how many flyer miles needed to get a free ticket .. they submit the request after confirm to want the free ticket .


c) when the customer have complete , they need to fill in their customer ID ,password and choosing occurred date , location , completed item , and giving advice .


ii) The CRM can compile statistics of the problem occurred with an emphasis on the improvement the completed items . And customer behavior .we also can predict the forecast of the user . In different period , Then company can pan the relative marketing policy. To increase service of the airline to attract more people used in an off-season and the provide the person service to the customer such as the customer need to have beef in his lunch or he is a vegetarian , the cooker can preview the customer needs and create the suitable menu and the airhostess can provide the suitable food to let the customer choosing before their request . This is the quantify service which the CRM can improved .
